CARROLLTON, Texas—Nouveau Eyewear has signed a license agreement with Phoebe Company LLC to produce ophthalmic frames, sunwear and readers under the labels of Kay Unger New York and Phoebe Couture, for distribution in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe.

“Kay Unger is an ideal partner for Nouveau,” said Marj McGraw, co-president of Nouveau Eyewear. “She approaches every design from the perspective of feminine beauty and detail, and her understanding of her customers is unparalleled.”

As co-founder and head designer of the company, Kay Unger has 38 years of fashion experience. A graduate of the Parson’s School of Design, her brands are defined by color, quality, fit and femininity; as such, the Kay Unger label exemplifies both the spirit and style of its designer, according to Nouveau.

“Nouveau Eyewear has demonstrated both creative artistry and professional dedication to interpreting unique designer looks into eyewear,” said Unger. “I’m delighted to work with a company who values attention to detail as much as I do.”

The Kay Unger Eyewear collection will be distinguished by statement couture pieces as well as updated classic designs, an announcement said. According to Nouveau, which will launch the collection at International Vision Expo West in October, each style will feature luxury materials and Kay Unger’s signature flair, expressed through unique colors, accents, and textures.

The Phoebe Couture Eyewear line will target a younger market, with vivid colors, bold combinations of textures and patterns, and on-trend shapes.
