SAN DIEGO, Calif. and HILLSBORO, Ore.—Carl Zeiss Vision and First Insight Corporation have announced that the i.Terminal dispensary system by Zeiss now interfaces with First Insight’s maximEyes paperless practice management and electronic medical records (EMR) software.

i.Terminal automatically takes all lens fitting measurements to an accuracy of 0.1mm, including measurements needed to create advanced custom lenses, such as back vertex distance, pantoscopic angle and frame wrap. The integration of i.Terminal with maximEyes allows fitting measurement data to be transferred automatically into the patient’s electronic medical record. This will reduce the amount of manual data entry, streamline the lens ordering process, and increase throughput in the dispensary, the company’s statement noted.

“As the leader in equipment, we are very pleased to complete our first integration with a leading practice management system, with more to follow,” said Fred Howard, Carl Zeiss Vision’s president-Americas. “i.Terminal is the next step in dispensing technology, providing the highest measurement accuracy and a platform to dispense the most advanced customized lenses. When integrated with practice management software like maximEyes, i.Terminal is also a big step forward in practice automation.”

“First Insight’s partnership with i.Terminal paves the way for future integrations,” said Nitin Rai, First Insight’s president and CEO.
