FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif.—Oakley has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Major League Baseball Properties (MLBP) to be an official MLB Authentic Collection eyewear licensee.

As part of the agreement, Oakley will offer the Flak Jacket XLJ, a performance design popular with major league baseball players, to the general public in collectible editions with colors and logos from 11 MLB clubs, according to a statement from Oakley. The statement did not indicate terms or length of the agreement.

"This is an opportunity to step up to the plate and show the fans of America's greatest pastime how the uncompromising demands of pro players drive eyewear innovation toward new possibilities. For the MLB series, Oakley Flak Jacket XLJ showcases some of the most advanced optical technologies the game has ever seen."

MLBP was formed in 1966 by the Major League Baseball Clubs as their agent for marketing and trademark licensing and protection. MLBP is responsible for managing consumer licensing activities, developing national advertising campaigns and cultivating sponsorship opportunities, as well as growing the game and the business of baseball outside the U.S.
