JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--Johnson & Johnson Vision Care is expanding two of its education offerings for eyecare professionals.

The next Chief Executive Optometrist (CEO) program will be held at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia Dec. 11 to 14.

Chief Executive Optometrist, an exclusive program from the Wharton School and J&J’s Vision Care Institute, is designed to offer ODs the business skills necessary to maximize their practices’ earning potential and take those practices to higher levels of success. The curriculum combines business strategies and tactics from Wharton professors with case studies and best practices.

Tuition for the program is $3,500, including lodging and meals.

The J&J Vision Care Institute also recently opened a new on-campus satellite center, at the Northeastern State University Broken Arrow Oklahoma College of Optometry--the fifth optometry school to participate.

“The satellite learning centers provide a direct link between the main campus of The Vision Care Institute [here] and the optometry schools, enhancing students’ experiences with even more information and skills useful for their careers,” said Richard Clompus, OD, the Vision Care Institute’s director.

Clompus said additional satellite centers will be built at other optometry schools in the future.
