NEW YORK—Vision Expo East opened its doors here on Friday to robust crowds ready to get down to business and view new products, the latest technologies and a second full day of Continuing Education courses.

“After a successful day of Continuing Education sessions on Thursday, we were delighted to see strong attendance today to the International Vision Expo East exhibit hall. There was a great buzz on the show floor as thousands of eyecare professionals gathered to see the latest technology and fashion trends,” said Tom Loughran, event director.

This year’s show offered plenty of new features for attendees to experience including the introduction of a new exhibitor Locator System to help navigate the show floor and reach exhibitors. Vision Expo East welcomes some 80 new exhibitors to the floor, rounding out the already diverse exhibitor base, according to show organizers.

In addition to all the product launches and promotions happening on the show floor attendees can meet Brazilian artist Marcelo Cipis who has created four exclusive illustrations for International Vision Expo East.

“I encourage attendees to stop by and get prints of the exclusive Vision East illustrations signed by the artist. With proceeds going to Optometry Giving Sight, Special Olympics—Lions Club International Opening Eyes Program and Unite for Sight, this is your opportunity to give back to the industry,” said Loughran.
