PITTSBURGH—Highmark—parent of Davis Vision, Viva International and the Eye Care Centers of America and Empire Vision retail chains—derived record revenues from those eyewear/eyecare businesses last year, the company said yesterday, in announcing its total corporate financial performance for 2007.

Revenues generated by Highmark's vision subsidiaries, collectively, exceeded $1 billion for the first time last year.

The vision subsidiaries’ net income for 2007 reached $38.6 million, up from $19.5 million in 2006. Vision income represented more than 10 percent of the parent company’s total $375.4 million in net income for the year (down from $398.3 million in net income in 2006).

Highmark’s overall revenues for last year were $12.35 billion, up from just over $11 billion in 2006.
