CLEARWATER, Fla.--Services were held here Dec. 20 for William A. (Bill) Schiller, manager of technical & business services for Transitions Optical. Schiller, a resident of Safety Harbor, Fla, died in Clearwater on Dec. 15 at age 48.

Schiller joined Transitions in 1996 after 25 years with PPG Industries. According to Transitions, he played an integral role in several new product launches for the company, working with Transitions' lens manufacturer partners to integrate new lenses into their product lines.

"We are mourning Bill's loss as both a friend and an outstanding representative of our organization, and our condolences go out to his family," said Dave Cole, general manager of the Americas, Transitions. "We are thankful to Bill for all of his support and excellent work in concert with our partners during the launch of Transitions V, and countless products preceding this. He will be sorely missed."

Schiller was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Parkside University in Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife and five children, who reside in Tampa, Fla.
