NEW YORK--The Optometric Center of New York, the foundation of the SUNY College of Optometry, honored Michael Daley, president of Essilor of America; Cary Rayment, president and chief executive officer of Alcon; and Arnold Schmied, president of Silhouette Optical, at Friday night's Eyes on New York Gala at Cipriani's.

Claudia Caruso, president of the Optometric Center of New York's board of trustees, and executive director Norman Haffner, OD, made the presentations to a full house of attendees. The 2005 awards pay tribute to three leaders whose unique creative vision represents the very best in personal and professional achievement, they said, adding that the recipients have enhanced the quality of life for thousands of men, women and children in significant and singular ways.
