ROSEMONT, Ill.--The third annual
Midwest Vision Congress & Expo (MVCE) wrapped up here this
weekend. The event, held at the Donald E. Stevens Convention Center
from May 12 to 15, consisted of continuing education courses as
well as an exhibit hall filled with frame, lens and equipment
vendors.
“NCSOC [North Central States Optometric Council] is pleased
to be a part of the premier vision education event in the Midwest,
said Jim Helmers, OD, president of NCSOC. “Attendance at MVCE
2005 has exceeded our expectations. There are representatives here
from all 10 north central member states. The exhibit hall is the
largest optometric showcase in the Midwest,” he said.
The CE program offered 60 new sessions on topics including
treatment of disease, patient care and dispensary management. This
year, organizers added more general sessions to foster a feeling of
community, according to John Moriarty, event director.
Attendees had additional opportunities to network at the
MVCE’s power lunch learning sessions, through the Meet to Eat
program and at the annual cocktail party held on the show floor
Friday evening.
Midwest Vision is a joint venture of the North Central States
Optometric Council, Vision Council of America and Association
Expositions & Services.
