FARMINGDALE, N.Y.--Two veteran optical laboratory executives, Ken Mittel and Michael Rothstein, have been promoted at Hirsch Optical, a major independent wholesale lab based here.

Ken Mittel

Mittel was appointed senior vice president of Hirsch Optical. He most recently served as the lab's director of operations. Mittel has worked at the lab since its founding in 1978, beginning as a customer service representative. In his new role, he will continue to present educational seminars to eyecare professionals.

Michael Rothstein

Michael Rothstein has been named vice president of Hirsch. Since starting as a customer service representative at the lab nine years ago, he has taken on additional responsibilities, most recently serving as director of sales and marketing.

Rothstein will continue to serve as director of marketing in addition to assuming greater responsibility for administration, allowing Mittel to focus more on customer care and efficiency of production processes.

Both Mittel and Rothstein report to Hal Rothstein, president of Hirsch Optical.
