PARIS--Face a Face introduces its Spring 2005 sunwear collection, which alternately captures, reflects and filters light.

Face a Face introduces a sunwear collection that plays with light; here the Azur3 (top) and the Liner2 (bottom).

"For the 2005 sunglass collection I wanted to work specifically around the theme of light, as a tribute to the sunlight," explained chief executive officer Pascal Jaulent.

As with all Face a Face collections, each style is actually a mini-grouping of similarly-designed models. The three Spray styles employ bevels and facets to play with and reflect the light. Color combinations include orange frames with brown lenses, dark tortoise frames with green lenses and dark red with grey lenses. Liner plays with transparency and duality, revealing an opaque frame behind a translucent top, which Jaluent refers to as "protective as skin." Transparent burnt oranges, lichens and crystals reveal black, white and grey opaque frames. The Azur takes its cues from architecture with sections of the front of the frame carved away to reveal either a contrasting color or a tonal matte finish.

All sunglasses feature Zeiss sun lenses with multi-layer AR coating on the back.

The sunwear is priced to the dispenser from $130 to $150.--Caletha Crawford
