DALLAS--The Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry (ARBO) held its 86th annual meeting here during the recent Optometry’s Meeting, and elected new officers and board members for 2005-2006.

Robert Smalling, OD, was elected ARBO president. Other new officers are Robert Easton, Jr., OD, vice president, and Christina Sorenson, OD, secretary/ treasurer. Immediate past president Janet Carter, OD, was elected to serve her second four-year term.

Newly elected ARBO board members are William Rafferty, OD, to complete a two-year term, and Roger Seelye, OD, for four-year term.

Other current board members are Steven Eyler, OD; Russell Jones, OD; and Robert Sorrell, OD.

Smalling said his goals for the coming year include fully implementing developing programs, including CELMO and the OE Tracker, and continuing to improve the organization’s flagship program, COPE.

Noted Smalling, “This is an exciting time to be involved in licensure and regulation.”
