LAS VEGAS--Refer to this helpful information to ensure that your experience at the International Vision Expo West is both educational and stress-free. The Conference Meeting Rooms and the Conference Office (Room 502) are located in the Sands Expo & Convention Center and Venetian Resort Hotel. If you have questions, be sure to speak with official show personnel who are easily identified by their Show Management name badges.

Arrive at your courses on time.
You MUST be in each course at least 50 minutes of every hour to receive CE credit. This is mandated by the state boards and national accrediting organizations (ABO, NCLE, COPE, JCAHPO, AOA Paraoptometric Certification Section, etc.), and not by International Vision Expo. This is strictly monitored and there are NO exceptions.

The Pre Registration cut-off date is Aug. 19, 2005.
To receive your badge and course tickets in the mail, registrations must be received no later than Aug. 19, 2005. Registrations received after Aug. 19, 2005 will be processed, however, badges and course tickets will need to be picked up on-site.

Planning to register/switch a course on-site?
Arrive at least one hour before your course(s) are scheduled to begin. Lines can be long on site and it is your responsibility to be on time for your courses in order to receive CE credit. If you are concerned about a timely course arrival due to the length of the line, ask the registration personnel for a course voucher. You must complete it and provide a valid credit card number. Present the course voucher to the room monitors in lieu of your course tickets. After the course, return to Registration to complete the registration process properly. If you do not return to Registration, you will not receive a stickered course ticket to submit to your state board or organization for CE credit, and your credit card will be charged.

As a International Vision Expo West conferee, you are entitled to:

  • A Conference Admission Badge
  • Complimentary Admission to the Exhibits
  • An Official Show Directory
  • A Conference Notepad
  • Course Handouts (where applicable)
  • Continuing Education Credit (only if your State Board or Accreditation Organization has approved our courses and you submit your stickered ticket copy to them)

Your confirmation letter lists all the courses for which you are registered.
If a course is not listed, then you are not registered for it. If you have a question about why, call (800) 677-2115 or (203) 840-5620. Tickets will not be generated beyond total space allotments for each course.

You can add and switch courses after you have registered.
Call (800) 677-2115 or (203) 840-5620 to make sure the course you’d like to add/change is still available. f you are paying by credit card, you may register over the phone, or visit the Conference Registration Desk on site.

You must have two (2) identical course tickets for EACH course and a conferee badge to gain entrance to ANY course, even the free courses.
If you do not have two tickets per course AND a badge, go to Conference Registration located in the lobby area of the Sands Expo & Convention Center.

Procedure for Official Tickets: Room monitors will collect only one of your two identical course tickets as you enter the room--you retain the other ticket. Upon completion of the course you will receive a sticker as proof of successful CE. Immediately after each course, place the sticker on the back of your course ticket.

If you need original official, tickets for more than one state board or agency, complete a Duplicate Ticket Request Form on site.
The forms are available in the Conference Office. Duplicate tickets are processed on site free of charge, but are not released until you present an official stickered ticket demonstrating successful completion of each course for which you submit a request. Be sure to pick them up before leaving the Conference. After the Conference, there is a $10 processing fee for all duplicate ticket requests.

If you lose your official tickets after receiving your official completion sticker, you can request a duplicate copy by completing a form in the conference office on site.
We will verify that your original ticket is on file before issuing you a new embossed ticket.

If you are requesting/maintaining JCAHPO accreditation, be sure to complete the appropriate form on site. This form is available in the Conference Office. Complete the form on site and return it to the Conference Office before departing. If you do not complete a form on site, you will not receive the forms required by JCAHPO demonstrating successful course completion after the Conference.

To request a CEE/TQ exam(s), please complete the form available in the Conference Office.
If you do not complete the form on site and return it to the Conference Office before departing, you will NOT receive a CEE/TQ Exam(s) after the Conference.

To obtain an AOA Paraoptometric Section certificate of course completion from International Vision Expo West, please complete the form available in the Conference Office and return it to the Conference Office before departing. The certificate will be mailed to you after the Conference.

You are responsible for checking the final approval status of ALL courses for which you register.
Do not assume that your courses are automatically approved. Check all State Boards approvals, ABO, NCLE, COPE, JCAHPO, and AOA Paraoptometric Section by calling (800) 677-2115 or (203) 840-5620 after Aug. 19, 2005 or via the International Vision Expo West web site at www.visionexpowest.com. All approval lists will be available onsite.
