ORLANDO, Fla.--Services were held here last month for Neil Irwin Lepow, 70, who was the founder of Franel Optical Supply. Lepow passed away on Nov. 3, 2005.

Neil Lepow

Born in the Bronx, N.Y., Lepow moved from New Jersey to the Orlando area in 1961. Franel Optical Supply serves the optical industry with a range of eyewear accessories, cases and dispensary tools, hardware and special items and is headed by David Lepow, Neil’s son.

Lepow was well-known in the industry for his sense of humor and took pride in his family-run business. Among his hobbies were fishing, photography, travel and his orchids, according to his family.

Lepow is survived by his wife of 48 years, Fran; his sons, David Alan (Lori) Lepow of Altamonte Springs, Mark Edward (Kathy) Lepow of Winter Garden and daughter Jan Audrey Lepow of Tampa; brother of the late Miriam Fuhr; brother-in-law of Don Fuhr and Eileen Greenberg; uncle of many, and his grandchildren, Anna and Sammy Lepow.
