SAN DIEGO--Carl Zeiss Vision (CZV) has named Randy Dannewitz senior director, North American sales and operations, Rx Labs. His new role stems from the departure of Darrell Zoromski, formerly CZV’s vice president, Rx and partner lab commercial operations, who has left the company to pursue an opportunity outside the optical industry.

Dannewitz’s prior role as director of sales and marketing, partner labs will be filled by David George, former director of sales for the Eastern U.S. Gary Shepson, director of sales for the Western U.S., will assume sales director responsibilities for the East as well.

George has an extensive background in optical sales, including roles with Essilor, Zeiss and Vision Ease before coming to SOLA (now Carl Zeiss Vision). Most recently, he was responsible for driving demand for CZV products to independent wholesale labs.

Shepson has a long history with both SOLA and Zeiss. Prior to the merger of the two companies, he served as sales director for Carl Zeiss Ophthalmic, where he achieved significant success in building the Zeiss supplier network.

Barry Packham, CZV’s president, the Americas, said “Under Darrell’s leadership, our Rx and partner lab group has enjoyed tremendous success in growing the AR category with Teflon Clear Coat Lenses, and introducing Zeiss Gradal Top and SOLAOne progressive lenses into more practices across the country. Randy has been a vital contributor to this process, and I am confident that he and his team will continue the positive momentum generated over the past year.”
