Contacts or Glasses?
Eyeglass Wearers vs. Contact Lens Wearers

According to Jobson Optical Research’s VisionWatch, the percent of adults age 18+ wearing eyeglasses has decreased. Over the past year the number has dropped 2.7% percent from 67% for the 12 month period ending in September 2004 to 65.2% for the12 month period ending September 2005. Consequently, there has been a 4% increase in the number of contact lens wearers over the same time period. It seems more people are switching from eyeglasses to contact lenses as their choice for vision correction or, more people are wearing contact lenses to correct vision some or all of the time.
