Tired of "Vision, pressure, dilate monotony"?

Want a job that stimulates your mind?

Tired of assembly line medicine?

This could be the job for you! Here is opportunity for career, salary and benefit growth.

No unnecessary patient procedures are "sold" here.

Ideal candidates:

Desire to be cross trained in all clinic procedures and testing equipment.

Must have at least 2 years experience working in an ophthalmologist's (MD) office. Sorry, experience in optical, as an optician's assistant, or assisting in an OD or optometric office is not sufficient. The experience must with an MD.

Be a fast two handed typist. We use Electronic Medical Records so comfort with the computer is a must.

Must be able to manually refract. (Sorry, auto-refraction doesn't count).

Must be able to perform applanation tonometry.

Have excellent written and spoken English Language Skills. Additionally, the same in Spanish is helpful but not required.

Desire a job where you are not a robot. Most tech jobs involve a minimal history, vision, pressure and then you move on to the next patient. Here you are expected to know what happened to the patient last time, why they are here this time, and anticipate where the visit is going so that the patient's experience is the best. You  are encouraged to think and participate in the care. You get to know the patient so we welcome your insight.

Smokers need not apply. We test pre-employment.

Must Be Drug Free. We test pre-employment.

Must be self motivated to learn and read in the field of Ophthalmology.

Not be prone to missing work often

Appreciate a gossip free work place.

Those with Opticianry-only experience need not apply. This is not a job fitting glasses or teaching contact lens use. We do have jobs like that. But this one isn't that. The job requires the skill set of a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician. Those are certifications that involve standardized tests and experience.
