VALHALLA, N.Y--Last month Metzler International USA, an affiliated U.S. subsidiary of financially ailing Moulin Global Eyecare Holdings, filed for voluntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy in U.S. bankruptcy court for the southern district of New York.

Financial statements included with the bankruptcy petition, filed on April 17, said the company had assets of about $13.3 million, and debts of $33.6 million.

According to the court filing, Metzler’s board of directors voted to file bankruptcy at a meeting on April 10.

The bankruptcy filing was signed by Angie Yam as Metzler president. Yam joined the company in the summer of 2004 as director of operations for Moulin’s U.S. business, charged with spearheading all operational and financial functions for Metzler International USA.
