Carrier takes over as head of EOA from Laurent Vacherot, who will move into the role of chief financial officer of Essilor International in Paris at the end of the first half of 2007, according to an EOA spokesperson. Vacherot will replace Fabienne Lecorvaisier, who has served as interim CFO of Essilor International.

“We congratulate John Carrier in his new leadership role,” said Hubert Sagnieres, chief executive officer of Essilor North America. “We celebrate with Laurent as he assumes this important new role in our company. We are very fortunate to have John in this role given his background and long history with Essilor.”

Since joining EOA over 17 years ago, Carrier has assumed roles of greater responsibility, including vice president of marketing for EOA and president of ELOA.

Real Goulet replaces Carrier as president of ELOA. Goulet joined Essilor in 1987 as production manager of its Montreal laboratory. While in Canada, he continued to assume roles of greater responsibility, including president of Pro-Optic and vice president of operations for Canada Group Laboratories. He joined EOA in 2004, most recently holding the position of senior vice president, national laboratories division.

EOA has also assigned new roles at ELOA to two other key executives. Mike Nathe, senior vice president eastern division of ELOA, will assume additional responsibilities with the Northeast region, which will now be moved into the Eastern division.

Rick Long has been promoted to senior vice president for the partner lab division. Partner labs are labs that have joined Essilor since 2003. Long joined Omega Labs in 1991 as chief financial officer and has served in several key roles, including region vice president for the Ohio Great Lakes region. Long returned to Dallas in 2001 and has led the development of the partner lab division since its inception in 2003.
