GREEN ISLAND, N.Y.--Adidas introduces Adilibria, women’s-specific golf eyewear that fuses fashion with function.

The Adilibria from Addidas Eyewear.

“From a performance perspective, we’re seeing a greater demand for sport-specific eyewear that is comfortable and versatile, but also stylish, like our Adilibria,” said Bill Munch, optical business manager for Adidas Eyewear. “This women’s-specific product fuses fashion and sport with a lens that is oversized for a modern glam look, but that also incorporates Adidas’ proprietary LST Golf specific technology for maximum contrast on and around the green.”

According to Adidas, golf is going mainstream and ladies are leading the way with a 52 percent participation increase over the past seven years. Therefore, Adidas eyewear, an extension of Adidas golf’s ‘Equipment for your Body’ offering, has launched the Adilibria frame, a women’s-specific sunglass customized for ladies golf.

The Adilibria incorporates a style-savvy larger lens shaped and sized specifically for a woman’s face to combine performance and fashion.

It is estimated that athletes expend 20 percent of their energy on visual focus; making a good lens crucial to blocking eyestrain caused by sunlight exposure, glare or poor weather conditions. The Adilibria protects the eyes from UVA, B and C sunrays and features a decentered vision advantage lens that, unlike polarized lenses which can distort depth perception, provides actual distance and a crystal clear view, as well as enhancing color contrast between the horizon, the ball and the green to further diminish eyestrain by harmonizing the light changes.

The Adilibria is customizable with a double-snap nose bridge with traction grip which allows wearers to adjust the nose piece setting for optimal comfort and fit. It is also performance insert compatible with an Rx-able insert to provide perfect vision no matter what the prescription and comes equipped with a quick-release hinge where the temples break free when force is exerted on them but pop right back in without screws to loosen or replace.

The Adidas Adilibria frame is priced to the dispenser at $62.
