It’s a small, small world and the U.S. certainly isn’t the only place with superstars. In this edition of Bold Face we highlight famous faces from around the world in their preferred sunnies or spectacles...

With all the hoopla surrounding the American version premiering later this year, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” has already been made into a critically acclaimed, award-winning Swedish film starring Noomi Rapace. After all it isn’t often that a movie is remade only two years after the original was released. However, despite the remake recasting the roles, the popularity of the three book series (and the Danish movies) has raised the Swedish actresses profile in the U.S. as well. Though not attached to the English-speaking version out in December, Rapace has been cast in her first English-speaking role as the French spy Sim in “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” which will go head-to-head against the remake at the box office thanks to its own Dec. 2011 release date. Geri Halliwell is perhaps best known by her alter ego, Ginger Spice. A member of the 1990’s girl group, the Spice Girls, Halliwell has since had a successful solo career selling 12 million records worldwide, published a popular children’s book series named “Ugenia Lavender,” traveled the world on behalf of the United Nations and lent her support to a variety of women’s and children’s causes. This mother of one has also made sure to keep in tip-top shape and has even released her own range of bikinis through British retailer Next. Cameroonian soccer superstar Samuel Eto’o is not only a star the green field but also as the new face of the John Richmond Eyewear campaign for Spring/Summer 2011. This professional ‘footballer’ is a striker for Italian Serie A club Internazionale and the current captain of the Cameroon national team. A close friend of the brand’s president Saverio Moschillo and his daughter, Alessandra, the English label, distributed by Allison Spa., is characterized by a rock-chic style that perfectly characterizes this sporty celebrity.
