NEW YORK—Moscot Optical, the New York City-based optical retailer, has promoted Wendy Simmons to the position of executive vice president.

Simmons, who previouly served as vice president of marketing for Moscot, has overseen public relations for the company since 2005. She is also the executive director of The Moscot Mobileyes Foundation.

Simmons’ promotion is the second top management change Moscot has made since the death of its president, Kenny Moscot, last month. As previously reported in VMail, Moscot’s brother, Dr. Harvey Moscot, OD, who had been vice president of Moscot Eyecare, has expanded his role to president. He remains director of Moscot Eyecare and chairman of Moscot Mobileyes.

Simmons is also the founder and managing partner of Vendeloo, a management consulting, public relations and marketing firm founded in 2001. She will maintain her role as managing partner for Vendeloo. Prior to forming Vendeloo, Simmons was the founder and president of the PR firm, Mindstorm Communications.
