ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Bausch + Lomb is teaming up with actress Marcia Gay Harden to encourage parents to make vision care a priority during the upcoming back-to-school period.

The company has launched a "Seeing Eye to Eye" contest to support its SofLens daily disposable contact lens. Parents of children aged 10 to 19 can submit a vision-releated story of 200 words or less, along with a photo, by Aug. 27. Grand prize winners receive a $5,000 scholarship and a chance to attend the American Music Awards in Los Angeles in November. Consumers can enter the contest via Facebook at www.facebook.com/soflens.

As part of the contest, B+L is offering a special back-to-school promotion for SofLens CLs; according to the company, the promotion reduces the cost per day equivalent for those lenses to that of wearing "the leading two-week lens."
