ORLANDO—During last month’s 2010 Optometry’s Meeting, the American Optometric Association elected new officers—including Joe Ellis, OD, as AOA president—and honored several ODs with its annual awards.

Themed “Discover the Possibilities,” Optometry’s Meeting highlights included a welcome reception sponsored by Bausch + Lomb; the opening general session with keynote speaker Frank Abagnale, sponsored by Essilor; and the Varilux Optometry Student Bowl XIX, won by the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. The meeting wrapped up with the annual presidential celebration, sponsored by Hoya Vision Care.
