LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y.—After 87 years in its current location, based here, Zyloware Eyewear has announced they will be moving to a new corporate headquarters in Port Chester, N.Y.

Founded in Long Island City in 1923, the company is currently in the process of finalizing the design of the new office and new warehouse systems and will officially open the new location Aug. 2, 2010 at 8 Slater Street, Port Chester, New York 10573. The toll-free phone numbers for customer service (1-800-765-3700) and the main line (1-800-765-2121) will remain the same, as will all employee email addresses. Office hours will remain 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST and there is no interruption in service planned during the move.

“Due to our strong portfolio and customer base growth, we will increase our square footage by 50 percent in our new state-of-the-art facility,” said Christopher Shyer, president of Zyloware. “Operational improvements throughout each department will allow us to continue providing the eyewear industry with the finest in product and customer service and provide for continued growth.”

“This is an enormous change, signaling the company's rapid growth in its third generation of family management,” added James Shyer, Zyloware COO. “We’re very excited about this expansion and how it will improve our operations and it’s positive effect on our customers.”

According to Chris Shyer, “the Port Chester community is very excited about our move as it will provide a positive economic impact to the area with new job creation. We’re happy to be a part of it,” he concluded.

To celebrate the move the company will be throwing a grand opening celebration with local and state officials in attendance.
