RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—In an effort "to help educate Americans on eye health and debunk common myths," VSP Vision Care has created a series of webisodes called VSP EyeFiles, featuring Bill Nye the Science Guy, launching today.

Nye, a scientist, engineer, comedian, author and inventor, is known for making science entertaining and accessible. “I am excited to partner with VSP Vision Care to set these eye myths straight, once and for all. We are going to investigate the truth about vision care, learn crucial steps to help prevent eye disease and have lots of fun along the way,” said the Emmy-Award winning Nye.

As part of this initiative, VSP Vision Care sent an online survey to VSP doctors across the country, asking them for the most common vision-related myths they hear from their patients on a regular basis, including questions about using computers and the need for a comprehensive eye exam. Many of these will serve as the basis for the webisode segments. The first has Nye talking about 3D and vision. Future segments will tackle other topics.
