NEW YORK—Modo has introduced a new line of affordable, environmentally responsible, luxury eyewear for men and women called Earth-Conscious Optics or ECO, which uses recycled stainless steel and repurposed plastic for the stylish and earth-conscious consumer.

“More than 120 million Americans use corrective eyewear and approximately 90 million wear sunglasses. This is a huge opportunity to make a difference,” said Alessandro Lanaro, CEO of Modo. “The power lies with the retailers to make sustainability attainable for all and that means offering a desirable, quality collection at a fair price.”

The collection offers classically inspired shapes, styles and colors for both optical and sun with a signature circle logo on the outer temple. In addition to a variety of styles, the ECO sunglass collection features polarized lenses.

ECO works to repurpose, recycle or reuse materials throughout every step of production. In addition, the collection is packaged in recycled materials and each pair is accompanied by a mail-in recycling kit for old, unwanted frames. Lastly, for each pair of ECO frames purchased, Modo will donate a tree to Trees for the Future, a non-profit organization that has been planting trees around the world since 1989.

The ECO collection is priced to the dispenser between $44 and $46.
