BOCA RATON, Fla.—Pro Fit Optix, based here, has signed an agreement with Optixx AG Switzerland for the distribution of Optixx lenses in the U.S.

“We are very excited to enter into a distribution agreement and to be associated with Optixx,” said Alan Yuster, executive VP of operations for Pro Fit Optix. “We look forward to introducing and developing the Optixx brand in the USA.”

Speaking about new partnership, Optixx founder and CEO Rudolf Suter commented, “We looked at Pro Fit Optix’s business model and their technology to order and distribute lenses, and were impressed by how modern and up-to-date it is.”

Yuster told VM that Pro Fit has begun distributing two lens brands developed by Optixx, Identity and Upgrade. Optixx offers three different digital free-form progressive designs under the Identity brand: Standard for universal wear, Outdoor for predominantly outdoor use and Office for predominantly indoor use. The lenses are available in three variable corridor lengths depending on the frame design, resulting in nine design choices for optimal visual lifestyle use, he said.

To complete the range of products, Optixx recently developed a degressive lens design, “Identity Office +,” that features a very clear visual image and is created for near and intermediate work only. Additionally, Pro Fit and Optixx are also introducing a digital free-form aspheric individual single-vision called “Upgrade.”

Yuster said the Optixx brands complement Pro Fit Optix’s portfolio of “All Form Lenses” which are optimized for the patient’s Rx, “frametized to further enhance the Rx by the frame and segment height measurements and customized by individual measurement of pantoscopic tilt, frame wrap and vertex distance.

Optixx AG was founded in 2002 by Suter, an optical industry veteran. Located in Kriens, Switzerland, near Lucerne, it is one of the few companies capable of developing progressive designs as well as backside progressive software based on the latest ray tracing and wavefront technology.
