MELVILLE, N.Y.—Marchon, licensors of the Karl Lagerfeld Eyewear brand, has signed a strategic alliance with Optic 2000, which according to a statement from the company is billed as the largest general optician chain in France with 1,164 doors in France and 43 in Switzerland. As of last month 1,150 locations of Optic 2000 became the exclusive retailers for the Karl Lagerfeld eyewear and sunglass collections in France.

“Karl Lagerfeld is a leader in fashion,” said Didier Papaz, president of Optic 2000. “Optic 2000 leader of the distribution of optical equipment, we were made to meet each other and build a beautiful story together.”

Marchon was purchased by VSP in 2008 and Optic 2000, founded 40 years ago, is the regrouped name of the eponymous retailer, as well as retailers Lissac and Audio 2000.
