DÜSSELDORF, Germany—Nigura Metzler, the German optical eyewear and sunglasses manufacturer, and Cerruti 1881, a French-Italian luxury fashion brand, have entered into a licensing agreement. The two companies had previously been licensing partners between 1993 and 2003.

“We are delighted that Cerruti has decided to work with us again,” said Salvatore Grillo Nigura Metzler’s managing director. “We would like to get back to [our previous] achievements and are convinced that this will be possible with the support of our partners.”

Nigura Metzler, which just relocated its warehouse back to its headquarters based here, and Cerruti share a common heritage, Nigura Metzler was founded in 1830 and Cerruti 1881 was founded in 1881 in Biella, Italy as a producer of high quality fabrics.

The first eyewear collection will be presented to market in January 2010.
