January editor-in-chief columns are the optimal space to agenda upcoming changes in the evolution of a magazine, and that plays double in this multimedia faceted world of print and digital. I’ve used it in the past to expound on concept changes as well as debuting year-long initiatives.

But allow me to approach it differently this time around by focusing on the amazing 20/20 edit team fueling upcoming changes that will completely affect the way you see and use 20/20.

This magazine is often referred to as a “product” book and… I totally accept that. Our edit schema is built on digging deep to the core of eyewear as a way of expertly expounding on the surrounding aura of that product be it trends, retail assists, tech applications, materials, services, education, price segmenting, lifestyle categorizing and the connection eyewear has as key to the road toward better vision. That road TAKES vision.

So in these next few months you will notice the development of a “new” New Products presentation in everything from the features to What’s Right Now to What’s New to What’s Next and on to the general New Products pages. Please note that the team of editors Victoria Garcia and Jillian Urcelay under the seasoned guidance of Christine Yeh have been creatively adrift in a whirl of info packaging, inspired visualization and deft writing talent as (Folio Ozzie Award-winning) Art Director Iris Johnson gives visualization to their scripting voices.

And, in turn, those refreshing new steps via print are being imaginatively coerced into digital delivery via a revitalized 2020mag.com website via Web Designer Julie Zidel. And all five of these super women are already pushing the envelope on reflecting aspects of these changes on the horizon into a living socialEYEzing presence, especially on Facebook and Instagram.

Me? I’m a lucky man as Greg Lake from ELP once noted. I’m the “chief” watching this hardworking magic happen. So let’s hang on. This 20/20 gig is about to get even better.
