1  MARCOLIN has joined the Altagamma Foundation. Marcolin will be the only Altagamma member from the eyewear industry and will join the other 115 member companies, which include brands operating in a variety of sectors, such as fashion, design, jewelry, food, hospitality, automotive and yachts.

2  CHARMANT GROUP has announced the appointment of Koji Horikawa as its new president and chief executive officer.

5  OPTOMETRY CARES—the AOA Foundation—in collaboration with PERC Alliance, has announced the launch of the Golden Opportunity Award, an initiative designed to honor the legacy of Dr. David Golden while providing substantial support to emerging optometric professionals. The prestigious award seeks to empower three deserving optometrists with a $50,000 scholarship each to facilitate the realization of their aspirations to establish their first independent practice.

6  MARCOLIN and Christian Louboutin have signed an exclusive global licensing agreement for the design, manufacturing and distribution of the brand’s sunglasses and optical frames until 2029.

7  SERENGETI EYEWEAR is returning to North America, relocating all brand operations from Lyon, France to Carlsbad, Calif., in a strategic move to reignite the “American soul” of the eyewear brand that is owned by Bolle Brands.

8  CLEARVISION OPTICAL’s David Friedfeld and SUNY College of Optometry awarded the latest Fred Friedfeld Memorial Scholarship and inaugurated a new scholarship, the Optical Community Scholarship, this past November at the college’s annual Scholarship Presentation program, held in partnership with its foundation, the Optometric Center of New York (OCNY).
