When one frame just won’t do, the answer may be to combine two. Combining a neutral like black or tortoise with a vibrant color like red can add a bit of punch to an otherwise subdued frame. Pairing a light color with a dark one can keep a style from looking too heavy; varying the thickness of the frame—heavy at the brow and thin under the eyes—will also make a frame feel less solid. Mixing it up may be the way to get it just right.
