Sean John Eyewear, available from Marchon Eyewear, makes its debut with 29 ophthalmic frames and 31 sunglasses for men and women. Targeted to young professionals looking for sexy, sophisticated eyewear with a touch of luxury, styles are bold, but wearable, interpretations of classic rectangles, aviators and navigators, some with double-bridge designs, and oversize ovals in metal and zyl. Colors range from metal tones to white, black, rich burgundies and striking tortoises and marbleized patterns. Five logo treatments are available, including stylized and block treatments of the name and initials. A key element in the collection is a universal fit feature.

MARKETING: The launch will be supported with trade, consumer and outdoor advertising campaigns. Merchandising materials include an eight-place rotator display, three-place display and one-place glorifier/logo plaque. Brown faux suede cases are offered in three styles: small (ophthalmics), large (sun), and large (wrap).

INSIGHT — Sean John was created by rapper and music producer Sean “Diddy” Combs and made its debut with a men’s sportswear collection in 1999, followed by a women’s collection in 2005. Combs was honored as Men’s Wear Designer of the Year in 2004 by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
